Product features

This model is a wireless subwoofer with several key features focused on delivering deep, distortion-free bass and improved performance within the Sonos ecosystem.

Audio performance

• Dual force-canceling woofers: The Sub (Gen 4) is equipped with two 5×8-inch elliptical woofers that face inward. This design cancels out cabinet buzz and rattle, so you hear only clean, powerful bass.
• Deep bass output: The ported enclosure enhances the bass response and low-frequency output, creating a rich and immersive sound you can feel, particularly for movies and music.
• Automatic EQ: The subwoofer’s audio settings automatically balance with your paired Sonos speaker(s), like the Arc Ultra, Arc, or Beam. You can also fine-tune bass, treble, and loudness in the Sonos app.
• Trueplay tuning: Using the Sonos app, Trueplay technology measures how sound reflects off surfaces in your room and fine-tunes your system to ensure the best possible sound quality.

Connectivity and processing

• Faster processor: It features an upgraded quad-core processor (4xA55 1.9GHz) and more memory (512 MB DDR4) for faster performance and future software updates.
• Improved Wi-Fi: A new Wi-Fi 6 radio provides more reliable wireless performance and smoother integration with your existing Sonos system.
• Ethernet port: A 10/100 Ethernet port is available for a wired connection to your router.
• Easy setup: The Sub (Gen 4) connects to your Sonos system easily through the Sonos app.

Design and efficiency

• Updated finish: This product has a matte finish available in black and white, which resists fingerprints and complements the aesthetic of newer Sonos products.
• Dual orientation: You can stand the subwoofer upright or lay it on its side to hide it under a couch or other furniture.
• Energy efficiency: The newer product design reduces idle power consumption by up to 50% compared to previous generations.

System integration

• Broad compatibility: This specific model can be paired with any amplified, non-portable Sonos speaker, such as the Arc Ultra, Arc, Beam, Five, Era 300, and Era 100.
• Dual subwoofer option: For an even more immersive home theater experience, you can add a second compatible Sonos subwoofer.
